| Once again, my xanga is on life-support(sorry mom!)... mostly due to the fact that this past semester I have been holed up in my room reading and reading and reading. I have reading down to a science. In fact, at this point in time I have actually become adept at reading an entire book and writing a paper on it... in one day. I am sure that this is not the way college professors intend for students to "learn", but you gotta do what you gotta do! Not only am I reading all the time, but I am reading really thrilling stuff. Like this article for my last term paper entitled, "DNA Examination of Ancient Dental Pulp Incriminates Typhoid fever as a Probable Cause of the Plague of Athens." Right now I am reading "The Golden Ass" by Apuleius. Dont let the title deceive you... reading about an Ancient Roman man turned into an ass isn't as riveting as it sounds.
Haha. I know this update is short.... but the books are calling for two more weeks... and then I fly home for break! I miss and love you all... let me know how you are doing!!!!!

| So, since my last post was so lame, I thought I would post a second one...yes, thats right a second post in one day! I know you are all ecxited! I just wanted to let you all know what exctement there has been in my life this summer since I've been in Macedonia. So, here's a list of things I've had to deal with:
1) A multi-country power outtage. Yes, thats right, all of Macedonia AND the surrounding countries lost power for what seemed like a week...it was probably about a day. 2) Incredible wildfires. My cousin Rachel and I actually saw a brushfire start RIGHT in front of our own eyes! Let me tell you, it was exciting and scary. 3) My bed collapsing on me in the middle of the night. Yeah, sometimes my bed just decides it wants to eat me while I'm sleeping. So, now I have decided to take my bed apart, and I now have the mattress on the floor with the frame surrounding it...its like a crib! 4) I've also had to deal with the internet being VERY touch and go. This means that my internet will be down for days at a time or it will just cut out in the middle of talking to people on Skype (mainly my boyfriend...don't worry, I'll post a picture of him). 5) Other than that, things haven't been too bad...besides the HUGE earthquakeE!! Ok, so, maybe I'm lying about the earthquake, but I thought it woudl fun to "get your goat" for a few seconds. I have had to deal with temperatures WELL over 100 degrees Celsius, though...okay, 100 degrees Farenheit, I admit.
So, I'm in Macedonia for another two and a half weeks, then I'm flying back to the states to spend two days with Tim, and then I'm flying back to Georgia. From there, we'll see what happens. I hope you have all had great summers. Here's a picture of Tim and I at the Drive-in to close off this post:
And another one of us in Central Park since I couldn't decide on just one: And one more of us at Chickee's Rock (this place overlooking the Susquehanna River that we went to see the sunset):
If you want to see more pictures, they are on Tim's facebook...just friend him, he'll add you, don't worry. Alright, Have a great rest of your summer. Goodnight! xoxooxoxxooxxooxooxooxoxxxoooxooxx

| Here are some questions. I have always wanted to know the answer to these questions, but I’ve been either too embarrassed to ask or too ignorant to know.
Do dogs really talk to each other when they bark? Can you really get AIDS from someone by eating a gallon of their spit? What do they bypass when they do double/triple/quadruple bypass surgery? Are dolphins really the only animals that have sex for pleasure? Is Ryan Seacrest gay? Are “thin” people happier than “fat” people? Can people really love unconditionally? Does vodka really taste good with orange juice? Does chewing grape seeds really prevent cancer? Is your body really paralyzed while you dream? Do people really vote for the president based on the way he looks? Are you really warmer in the winter if you don’t shave your legs? Can Africans get sunburned?
Can anyone help me out? |
